V Groove Laminate Flooring – The Unique Laminate Flooring

V groove laminate flooring is a flooring type which is shaped by cutting it or pressed it with machine in a way that makes it looks like it is cut directly from the natural wood. Some manufacturers let the customer decide whether they want it to be pressed or cut and painted. There are many manufacturers that provide this flooring type. The first example is Kaindl Laminate flooring. The Classic, Natural, and Soft touch laminate flooring comes with around 88mm 4 way v grooves. This manufacturer is quite well known in Europe. Another well-known manufacturer is IKEA who comes with its IKEA laminate flooring. It comes with Prarie, Slatten, Golv or Tundra type which has its own characteristics.

Beside v groove laminate flooring, there are square edge flooring which is flat and creates no gap and also molded groove or U groove where the edges are pressed to the floor into a U groove. Both of these two types are claimed to be easier to clean compare to the v groove type.

The Good about V Groove laminate flooring
Although the other laminate grooves flooring are easier to clean, v groove laminate flooring has a very unique advantage over the other. It can cover the slightly irregular sub-floor surface so people do not need to do a major change or effort to install it. Another advantage is it can have multi-strip design and wider color range even to the point of resembling ceramic tile, marble, granite, bamboo, etc. Then, just like most laminate flooring types, it is cheaper than the hardwood flooring but still highly durable.

The Bad about V Groove Laminate Flooring
As has been mentioned before, this grove has the ability to cover the lightly irregular sub-floor surface. This has created one problem. The gap created by the irregularities is easily piled with dust. Therefore, the moment installation is completed, it is highly recommended to wax the groove to get rid the dust. Still, it is up to the customer to choose which flooring and groove they want but the unique ability has given a good attraction for v groove laminate flooring
